About Me

My photo
Ivan
Born left handed and raised in Nova Scotia. Loved the ocean since I can remember. Had my own boat at age 11. School was difficult except for Industrial Arts. That was a snap. Creating and building was much easier than books. Quit school in Grade 10 and took up boat building for a year. Returned to complete high school and learned the printing business. Loved that and did everything from sales to delivery. Started a part time framing business in 1976 and went full time the summer of 82. Painting seriously began in the autumn of 1981. Photography followed shortly after. Wrote my first song and book "Peggy of the Cove" in the spring of 2004. Now she's taking over my life. By request of three tour guides (Charlene, Thelma and Paula)added my Childhood Home Museum as an Interpretive Center in spring of 2005. Second book published in 2008. It won Bronze in the Independent Book Publisher Awards in the US. Working on third. Have great plans for developing Peggy of the Cove as a major attraction on the seventy acre property where I grew up. So far have great trails with a spectacular view of St. Margaret's Bay and of course, the museum.
